Well, David Cook is now officially the man…I think he deserved it. ARchuleta is good too…his voice actually reminds me a lot of Kenny Loggins. The performance by George Michael was kind of depressing…that song “Praying for Time” was totally lost in my memory bank but as soon as I heard the first line it all came back to me. George looked like he might have been a little doped up…so sad. The One Republic song was tight…I heard it for the first time in an exercise gym in a New York hotel about a year ago, and tonight was the first time I’ve heard it since then, and I was reminded of how dope the song is. I couldn’t quite get with the CArly Simon and Other Dude (forgot his name) performance…it just didn’t mesh well IMHO. They brought back some real-deal old school legends…Bryan Adams and George Michael and Seal–who by the way rocked it with Syesha. I have always thought that Seal is one of the most under-rated musicians out there…he writes some COMPLEX stuff, man (think “Kiss From a Rose”). That “Hero” song is one of my favorites too.
Good show all the way around…I still think that Asia’h Epperson should have went farther than she did, though.
